North East College for Hearing Impaired, established on 18th July 2009, is one of the premier educational institutions not only in Assam, but also in the entire North East India. It was the realization of the dream project of Assam Association of the Deaf, the only oldest organization working for the welfare of the hearing impaired community since 1960.

It has come to reality with the determination and hard work of visionary person Mr. Tapan Kr. Sarma, the current Hony General Secretary, Assam Association of the Deaf. Since 2009, North East College for Hearing Impaired has transformed into a fully grown tree from a little plant with extension of degree section in the year 2015 for these special class of people in our society.
